Who we are
Jon and Laurie Rakowski were married in 1998. In 2003 the Rakowski's moved to Jon's hometown of Pound, WI. Jon and Laurie have 4 biological kids, have been foster parents since 2018 and mentored many more. Currently the Rakowski's live in Pound, WI with their 2 bio boys and 5 foster/guardianship kids ranging in ages of 11-17.
The Rakowski's were nominated by the social workers of their county for the 2025 Wisconsin Governors Outstanding Family Award. The family was chosen as one of the recipients and presented with the prestigious award in December 2025.
What we do
At risk kids from 6 to 18 years old are welcomed into family homes with experienced, married house parents. Each house has up to 8 kids living in the home. Kids at True Source Farms are here willingly. At True Source Farms each kid will find a place where they belong and are loved. They will learn how to function as part of a family while learning life skills.
Kids will have the opportunity to learn about cattle, crops and the basics of farming. Interested kids can be a part of the farming mentoring program where they gain hands on experience. All the kids at True Source Farms will gain an understanding of where our food comes from and the opportunity to participate where interested. True Source Farms is committed to providing a safe, loving home with opportunities for healing, health, and wholeness for vulnerable kids.
